In this story, Johnny Raygun, and fellow Raygun agent run into the Planter, a new villain who can control plants. Having landed on the moon, the villain has discovered a giant plant capable of surviving in the depth of space. The plant and the Planter have a grudge with the scientists ad humans who have settled on the moon and it’s up to the Raygun agents to save the day. But will a run in with independent adventurer Mike Rage put Johnny off track?

This issue is in continuity with the previous, although the dramatic ending is not followed up directly. Instead, Woodall and Talbot provide ample subplots as the upcoming evil menace that Johnny will face shortly. As usual, humour is at the forefront of this story. Teaming up the straight shooter, Olaf with the irreverent Johnny is always a good formula to produce much laughter. The best part is of course the wacky villains they face.

The artwork is as clean and effective as usual. This team masters storytelling and understands that with a subject as light as this one, facial expressions are important. They aren’t as lively as say, Kevin Maguire’s, but they are well crafted. In the second story, Evensen and McFarlane provide good pages with clear storytelling, although their work is not edgy. The last story’s artwork, by Rebello had a nice slapstick character design.
