The Mole Man and his army of ani-men confront the only four people in the world who can stop his plan of global conquest, but are they ready for the challenge?

This was a strange issue, really. We get a tie up of everything that's happened and a lead into the next issue. But it seemed a little flat. The dialogue seemed to be off somewhat, which really did affect flow, as there seemed to be a distinct lack of energy throughout. The thing that stuck out here was the refinement of Reed. His analytical nature and thirst for understanding were benchmarked and it was interesting to see.

Unlike the dialogue (in places) the art wasn't convoluted at all. This was pretty surprising as there was a lot going on in most panels. There is a great shot of Johnny flying through the midst of ani-men, that really stamps this point home. Kubert gives us a great scene of invisible Sue running to Reed. A real fun moment. The panel layout is an interesting change and it works out nicely. Nice cover, the image seems to show who the team will truly become.
