Electronic Arts announced today that its EA SPORTS GamerNet feature, which was first introduced in Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08 on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 last year, has been enhanced for Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 09 . This year, EA SPORTS GamerNet will feature more seamless integration within the game, an enhanced user interface and daily competitions.
EA SPORTS GamerNet in Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 09 will feature Instant Challenges, including long drives, approach shots and putting, which will be automatically delivered to players throughout their rounds. Players who beat the Instant Challenges will be rewarded with GamerNet points. Players won't even have to go into special game modes in order to activate the Instant Challenges. It will be available in most modes in the game and will automatically notify players if a challenge is available. Players will also have the ability to post their challenge scores, clips and more, all from the course, at any time without interrupting their current game.
EA SPORTS GamerNet also features daily challenges customized to fit an individual’s playing style, and an all-new daily leaderboard that gives any player the opportunity to win on any given day. Players will be able to track that day's competition in the GamerNet hub and find out how much time is left. The player with the most GamerNet points at the end of the day's competition will become EA SPORTS GamerNet Champion.
Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 09 with EA SPORTS GamerNet will be available on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on August 26 th and is rated E for Everyone.
