Rated “T” for “Teen”
Princess Syalis is the princess of the human kingdom, “Goodereste.” She has been kidnapped by Twilight, the current “Demon King.” He has imprisoned the princess in his “Demon Castle.” While the human kingdom goes into panic over its missing princess, the princess herself is… bored... and just wants to get a good night's rest.
As Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle, Vol. 7 (Chapters 79 to 91) opens, it's mandrake pickin' time! Why does it also mean that it is time for the Princess to die over and over again? Later, the Demon King and the Demon Cleric teleport Syalis home so that she can obtain some important sleepwear. What happens when the kingdom of Goodereste discovers that its abducted princess has returned? Do they even have the right princess?
THE LOWDOWN: The Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle manga presents episodic comedy that offers light reading and light humor in chapters that average around 12 pages in length. Yes, the “Teddy Demons” appear in this volume.
Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle Graphic Novel Volume 7 is one of the better volumes in the series. I think the mini-story arc about Syalis' return to her kingdom is funny, and it gives readers the most extensive view of the human kingdom to date. Then, Valentine's Day gives readers a chance to choose which is better: obligatory chocolate or true love chocolate. This episode is a delight, or at least, I think so. I'm thinking of adding this chocolate battle royale to my repertoire. The Teddy Demons are asking us to return next volume so that we can learn more.
I READS YOU RECOMMENDS: Readers looking for odd manga comedy will want to try the Shonen Sunday title, Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle.
