After bring Topher into their fold, will the whole team dynamic change forever? Alex has had a jones for Nico since issue #1. So what will the fallout from the end of the last issue be!?!
Vaughan knows how to tell a good story. He has taken the kids out of a normal environment and plunged them into a situation that they would have, before hand, called fanciful. And the thing about it is that they are acting accordingly, which is great to see. Now the thing about it is, they weren't really friends until the incident with their parents, so can they co-exist. Vaughan looks at this. Another thing that has to be asked is, do they really know and can they trust Topher?
The thing I like about this book is the kids all have their own looks, especially Gert. And I think that is a great message to get across to people. The covers are always lovely and I think they do a great job of drawing you to the issue. The interior art creates a really nice vibe. All the action and effects (powers, etc) are handled just right. They're never too much or overpowering. And that is the same with the pencils & colouring, it's very inviting without damaging the tone.
