Rated “T+” for “Older Teen”
A failure at school, socializing, and sports, Tsunayoshi Sawada was the nerd better known as “Hapless Tsuna” or “Loser Tsuna.” Then, Reborn, a toddler who is also an assassin, arrived and informed Tsuna that he was destined to become the 10th boss of the Vongola crime family. Reborn also has magic bullets, and he will need every one of them to groom Tsuna into a Mafia boss.
As Reborn!, Vol. 16 (entitled Ten Years Later) opens, Tsuna has finally secured the Vongola succession because he won the Sky Battle. After enjoying a celebratory party, more trouble starts. Lambo accidentally shoots Tsuna with his Ten-Year Bazooka. Usually, it transforms a person into what he will be in 10 years, but this time the magical weapon sends Tsuna 10 years into the future. It’s his strangest adventure yet.
THE LOWDOWN: What a long, strange manga Reborn! has been. This time travel adventure that starts in Vol. 16 is the strangest yet. Readers who follow this series on a regular basis will enjoy the dark and odd look at where the cast might be in 10 years. There’s something about this storyline that really grabs anyone familiar with this concept, and it’s right in tune with the fight comic attitude this series has had for a while.
POSSIBLE AUDIENCE: Fans of shonen action will like Reborn!
