Rated “T” for “Teen”
Kyutaro Horikita is the cleaning expert of Kurokado Private High School. He finds a maiden sleeping in an old room on campus. She is transfer student Fumi Nishioka, and like Kyutaro, she has a talent for cleaning. However, the tall, dark, and handsome Kyutaro is also a “Sweeper,” someone who cleans away negative energy from people's heart. Fumi becomes his apprentice who will one day awaken as a Queen. Now, comes the second part of their story.
Queen's Quality, Vol. 7 (Chapters 31 to 35) opens at Seichi, the Holy Ground of the Old Byakko Clan. A mysterious white cat arrives and encourages Fumi to go to Kyutaro, who was spirited away. Kyutaro is fighting someone who looks like him, and he is loosing. Meanwhile, back at Seichi, a vicious ghost, “the Komori!” attacks. Soon, Fumi and Kyutaro will not only have to face the Komori, but they will also have to face who and what this angry ghost really is.
THE LOWDOWN: The Queen's Quality manga is a worthy sequel to the QQ Sweeper manga. The new series is a darker and fuller narrative, revealing more of the “Sweeper” mythology than the original did, but I have mostly preferred the original. But my mind may be changing.
Queen's Quality Graphic Novel Volume 7 presents the most shocking secrets about Kyutaro. Then, it offers the most shocking secret of all – the one for which readers have been waiting. We discover that we are going to finally discover the secret past of Fumi, including who her teacher is and how he is connected to Kyutaro. Queen's Quality is a good supernatural romance, and, right now, an even better supernatural thriller.
I READS YOU RECOMMENDS: Fans of Kyousuke Motomi's QQ Sweeper will want to read the Shojo Beat title, Queen's Quality.
