The search for the conspiracy of the Devonshire company continues as the kids return to school. By any means possible, they try to figure out what is the real purpose of the seminary. However, the Devonshire company has enlisted backups to make sure everyone stays the course at the school, including Jack Marlowe, know to the world has the Wilcats’s Spartan.

This issue is filled with backroom shenanigans and plotting by all sides. No matter the fact that Casey’s work here is boring, the plotting is strong and all the elements introduced over the course of this series are heading for a quick final for the next issue. The characterization are all solid. It’s amazing that Casey, with all his skills could not transform this series into the X-Men of the 21st century. It truly is a waste.

Garza makes everyone look as if they had been compressed. They look almost like cartoon versions of themselves. At the very least, the look of each character is consistent and you’ll recognize all your favourites quickly. There’s something exuberant about his artwork making the characters look kinetic and constantly moving. That’s a good thing as the story itself is not that fun to read.
