Television
Stephanie Hans has drawn the latest poster for the upcoming Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode. More at Marvel.
The Simpsons is getting a LEGO episode. Called "The Simpsons LEGO Spectacular," the episode will air on May 4th to promote the release of The Simpsons LEGO sets. More on Youtube.
Friday the 13th is coming to the small screen. Avatar and Terminator screenwriters Bill Basso and Jordu Schell are developing a show that re-imagines Jason in multiple time periods. More at Deadline.
Girls has added a couple new cast members for its upcoming 4th season. Filmmaker Desiree Akhavan and Peter Mark Kendall will play new friends of main character Hannah. More at Deadline.
Film
Cyborg is now joining the growing list of heroes in the Batman vs. Superman
movie. On top of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ben Affleck as Batman,
rumours of Dwayne Johnson playing someone, Ray Fisher will play another
current member of the JLA. More at Variety.
The writers of Zombieland have been tapped to write the film adaptation of the upcoming video game Watch Dogs. The game follows a vigilante who can tap into his city's network to control anything from cameras to street lights. More at Deadline.
With Son of Batman out this week, DC has released a trailer for its next animates feature, Batman: Assault on Arkham. The film features the Suicide Squad and takes place in the Arkham video game universe. Watch it below:
Peter Jackson has changed the name of the final Hobbit movie. It used to known as "There and Back Again," a nice allusion to the book's unofficial title, but now it'll be known as "The Battle of the Five Armies" after a battle Bilbo is largely unconscious for in the book. More on Facebook.
Amanda Seyfried has joined the live action Peter Pan adaptation, reuniting her with Les Miserables cast member Hugh Jackman. Seyfried will play Mary, a character who isn't in the original book. More at The Hollywood Reporter.
Jem and the Holograms, the latest film adaptation of an eighties cartoon that has come under serious criticism, now has its stars. The titular popstar heroine will be played by Nashville's Aubrey Peeples alongside Stefanie Scott, Aurora Perrineau and Hayley Kiyoko. More at the Hollywood Reporter.
Comics
The Guardian
is putting literary authors with comic artists for a weekend special.
Novelists like Audrey Niffenegger and Gillian Flynn and artists like
David Gibbons and Christian Ward are going to all be featured. More at The Guardian.
Sandman: Overture and former Batwoman
writer J.H Williams III has not only illustrated the latest Blondie
record, he's also animated their lead single's music video, "I Want to
Drag You Around." More on Youtube.
Bleeding
Cool has released its monthly GenderCrunching article, analyzing the
place of women in the credits of American comics. They also looked at
the representation of women in the recently announced Eisner
nominations. More at Bleeding Cool.
DC Comics has raised the price of Forever Evil #7 from its original price of $3.99 to $4.99 to make up for the 48-page conclusion. More at CBR.
