Rorschach Action Figure Doesn't Please
By Hervé St-Louis February 2, 2009 - 00:30
I haven’t bought a new DCDirect action figure in months. I’m
not happy about this new Rorschach action figure based on the movie version of
the character. My first complaint is the price of this action figure. I’ve paid
$24 for this thing. I used to pay $16 for my DCDirect action figures. Granted
that the price of oil has changed, but this increase is ridiculous and as a
customer, I’m not getting enough for my money.
Rorschach has almost no possibility. He doesn’t even have
real legs. There’s two sticks glued to the base of his rain coat and no knee
articulations. Rorschach’s head is hunched on one side. The placements of his
legs are totally ineffective. There’s no way to properly pose him without the
action figure looking odd. The gun that
stays in his right hand keeps on falling.
On the plus side, Rorschach does look like the movie
character and to some degree the comic book version. The painting of this
figure is great. The scale of this action figure is smaller than recent
DCDirect toys, staying closer to six-inches rather than seven. That’s a good
thing.
I was looking forward to a great action figure, but this one
is not. I would have preferred real legs covered by a hollow rain coat. I
feel cheated by this action figure and cannot recommend it.
