There's not much to speak of today, so this edition will be a little different than usual, as there won't be any headlines today. Probably the week's biggest news, so far, was the release of the new Pokemon games for Nintendo DS. The amount of games sold from each version, yesterday alone, were staggering. Today's sales of the game were considerably slower, but that doesn't mean they were slow by any means.
In some news from other consoles, we got absolute confirmation on the Canadian release date of the Xbox 360 Elite today thanks to a retail rep. The Elite will be arriving in Canada on May 4th, rather than the American release date of April 29th. When we asked why it would be arriving the week after, the rep simply said he didn't know. Speaking of black Xbox 360s (if you didn't already know, the Elite is black), black Xbox 360 accessories are already available at major chains, so if you wanted to get your hands on those before the release of the Elite you can. Currently available are black wireless controllers, black play n' charge kits, black accessory packs, which include a wireless controller and play n' charge kit, and black Xbox 360 rechargeable batteries.
Licensed movie games are starting to make some more rounds on the mobile market. Warner Bros. Digital Distribution and Hong Kong based Artificial Life are working on a mobile version of Happy Feet for Japan. The game's release will coincide with the movie's Japanese DVD release in the middle of this year. Gameloft is also getting in on mobile licensed movie games with Dreamworks Animation SKG, bringing Shrek the Third to mobile phones worldwide around the release of the movie in theatres.
