THQ and WrestleMania 23

THQ will be taking over the Gem Theatre in Detroit tonight for the fifth annual THQ Superstar Challenge. 16 superstars from World Wrestling Entertainment will be there to compete in what THQ calls a bracket-style video game tournament featuring THQ's WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 for Xbox 360. Hundreds of fans will also be on hand to watch the finals of THQ's WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 online tournament, hosted in conjunction with WWE, Best Buy, Global Gaming League and Microsoft. The competition has been running on Xbox Live for the past several weeks and the two finalists will be competing against each other, in person, for two floor tickets to WrestleMania 23, as well as a WWE Championship Belt and more. After the tournament is finished, the main competition begins. The 16 WWE superstars, from RAW, Smackdown and ECW, will compete in a single-elimination tournament to decide which one of them is truly the superstar of WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2007. After the main competition is finished, yes there's more, Nonpoint will take the Gem Theatre's main stage and rock the audience with some of their latest tracks.

Sims 2 Pets goes mobile

Electronic Arts announced today that it has made The Sims 2 Pets available for mobile phones. People can now take their Sims around with them, adopt, train and play with a pet all on their mobile phone . The game allows players to adopt a puppy, teach it tricks, and do other things they would normally do with normal dogs (excluding talking to it and petting it). A well-trained puppy will delight your Sim with surprising and amusing antics, and a happier Sim will benefit from increased earnings and improved status. A neglected puppy can shred papers, devour houseplants, soil the carpet, and make your Sim’s life miserable. The Sims 2 Pets is now available through a number of wireless carriers around North America. You can find availability information at www.eamobile.com.

Cruise with Wii

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is really setting itself apart from the rest of the crowd. It is the first cruise line to offer its guests the opportunity to play Wii on its ships. Wii systems are currently available for play on all of the company's NCL America ships, including its newest one, Norwegian Pearl. By the end of next month, the entire NCL fleet will have Wiis aboard. Currently, the only games available to play on the ships are Wii Sports, Wii Play, WarioWare: Smooth Moves and Excite Truck, but that's alright, because the real attraction of it is that the systems are located in the atrium and other large public rooms on the ships, complete with huge screens. Each ship's Kid's Crew facility will also have two Wii kiosks, for kids only, plus ships will, also be hosting tournaments and other Wii activities. Sounds like they've got it all nicely planned out.
