FILM FESTIVAL SUCCESS CONTINUES TO DRIVE ZOOM SUIT SALES_
Zoom Suit is the Biggest Gainer on Comic Buyers Guide Heat Meter and Lands on Wizard's Top 5 Indies List
Selected to a record 84^th film festival in under 15 months, Zoom Suit
continues to introduce new fans to comics and bring former readers back into
the fold. The latest major venues to screen the animated short include
The Independent Film Forum, The Indie Gathering and Mania TV where from nearly
a thousand entries Zoom Suit was selected the runner up to the Grand
Prize. To date, Zoom Suit has screened to over 2 million fans of
comics and animation.
The exposure has paid off! The hot new release has enjoyed
tremendous sales success, and has been added to two prestigious industry lists
by the largest magazines in the comic book industry. Wizard: The
Guide to Comics listed Zoom Suit as #4 on their "Top Five Indies
List", and Comics Buyers Guide reported Zoom Suit #1 as the best selling
independent title on their "Heat Meter".
In Wizard: The Guide to Comics #177 Zoom Suit appears as #4 on the "Top Five
Indies" list along with Mouse Guard, Walking Dead, Transformers and Red
Sonja. Additionally, Comic Retailer Steve Baginsky of Yancy Street
Comics is quoted on page 140 in the Wizard "Shop Talk" Section.
They are Zooming off the shelf as quick as we can put them out", said Baginsky. "Any
shop caught without this book should be slapped with a chrome copy"._
Zoom Suit's rank on the Comics Buyers Guide's _Heat Meter_ proves even more impressive. The
Heat Meter_ _ranks what comic retailers reportedly sold in
shops. This ranking shows which titles are performing better than what
their initial orders indicate. Zoom Suit came in at #114 on Diamond Comics
Order Estimates, but 41^st in actual retailer sales. The largest gain
on the list, and best selling independent comic for the month.
Ryan McClelland of NEWSARAMA, the largest source for entertainment news and
information recently reviewed Zoom Suit and labeled it, The Indy Comic of the
Year".
Taddeo, a former intern at Marvel Comics, is director of the animated short
film and writer of the comic which spins the tale of a latch key kid that
mistakes an alien battle suit for a Halloween costume. Due to the nature
of the armored suit and superstar talent roster, the series is often mistakenly
compared to Marvel Comics Iron Man, but Taddeo describes the series
differently.
"It's probably more Cinderella, Ultimate Spider-Man and Greatest American Hero",
explained Taddeo. "I try to hide pop culture references, hidden
codes and phone numbers as well so I guess there's a treasure hunt aspect as
well. If you can find the clues in the book, Zoom Suit can be a very
interactive comic experience".
Zoom Suit is currently on sale at over 1,200 comic shops
worldwide. Issue #3 shipped July 5^th. Diamond comics is
completely sold out of Issues #1 and #2. Fans and retailers looking
for copies should contact their local comic shop or Superverse directly via the
