Dynamite Entertainment released the final cover image today for Battlestar Galactica #1. The piece – by superstar artist Michael Turner and colorist Peter Steigerwald – will ship in equal ratio along with a cover by Billy Tan, interior BSG artist Nigel Raynor and a Photo Cover from the hit SCIFI show!
“Mike and crew were with us on our very first issue of Red Sonja,” commented Dynamite Spokesperson J. Allen, “So, for our next BIG #1, it’s nice to have him and Peter work their magic once again. Six has that flair that only Michael could give her, and I think the fans will definitely agree. The setting of her with the planets is really cool! In a way, we get to thank the retailers, as Turner fans and retailers have till Tuesday to pre-order their copies! With the sneak peak to issue #0, fans will know that the insides are going to be nothing short of frakkin’ unbelievable!!!!!!!!”
The release of the cover image follows just a few short days after the special preview of the best selling (over 175,00 copies) issue #0 in TV Guide, and a few short days before the release (beginning May 31, 2006) of issue #0 to comic shops across the country)
Issue #1 is available now for PRE-ORDER with a scheduled in store date of late July.
The biggest comic book event of 2006 begins here as Dynamite Entertainment launches the all-new, Battlestar Galactica comic book series based on the all-new “re-imagined” Battlestar Galactica on SCI FI!!
Picking up from the final pages of the best-selling #0 issue, Battlestar Galactica #1 features the ongoing creative team of writer Greg (Planet Hulk) Pak and Nigel Raynor! Joining the inside team we have the all-star team of cover artists Michael Turner with colorist extraordinaire Peter Steigerwald, Billy (Uncanny X-Men) Tan and Nigel Raynor; plus, a special photo cover showcasing the beautiful and deadly Six!
Our story focuses on an “untold tale” taking place in between seasons of the popular show and the return of characters not seen since the smash mini-series that re-launched Galactica to critical acclaim. Don’t miss out, and don’t forget to ask your local retailer about the special incentive covers!
