DEADY THE EVIL TEDDY-by Voltaire with Gaiman, Dirge, Naifeh and others! Now in stores!
Voltaire's malevolent little teddy bear from outer space, returns in this, his 3rd installment bringing some heavy hitting friends along.
DEADY THE EVIL TEDDY volume #3, is a real "Monsters of Goth" issue with some of the biggest names in spooky comics lending a hand.
Roman Dirge contributes a 2 page DEADY MEETS LENORE tale sure to please both Deady and Lenore fans!
Gris Grimly and Crab Scrambly pull Deady into their worlds with guest art stories "Evil Nursery Rhymes" and "The 13th of Deady" respectively.
Ted Naifeh adds a delicious pin-up of DEADY AND COURTNEY CRUMRIN and Damien Glonek introduces the sinister plush toy to his evil legion of dolls in "DEADY MEETS THE LIVING DEAD DOLLS!'
If all of this weren't enough, NEIL GAIMAN weaves a 4-page tale documenting a particularly unfortunate meeting with Voltaire and DEADY in an all-night noodles joint in New York city!
Voltaire says, "The first issue of Deady (Deady The Malevolent Teddy) set the bar really high with awesome guest art including a story by Clive Barker. We were able to continue that trend in Deady #2 (Deady The Terrible Teddy) with James O'Barr, Dan Brereton and other great talents. But after seeing Deady #3 I really have to ask myself, 'where do you go from here?' This is truly an awe-inspiring roster of talent in this book. It's a real dream team!"
Aside from the books, there is also a line of Deady toys made by Hong Kong's Toy2r available where urban vinyl toys are sold (Tower Records, Kid Robot, etc..)
Says Voltaire, "I've also signed a deal with Toy Network to create a line of Deady plush. I've seen the samples and they look great! Deady is, after all, a plush toy come to life, so this is really a natural progression for the little guy."
Deady The Evil Teddy is now in comic book stores and should be showing up at Hot Topic stores in the next month.
