International Enterprise will now be representing the foreign licensing rights of Street Legends Ink's Blokhedz series to publishers all over the world. The Blokhedz team and comic were the talk of this year's Comic Con, with television appearances on CNN, NBC and Fox and radio spots of San Diego's top hip-hop station, Z90, and the possibilities of such a unique series in markets world-wide will bring more profts and exposure for both this talented creative team as well as an extensive list of foreign licensing contacts.
A brainchild of "MadTwiinz" Mike and Mark Davis with further development by ImajiMation Studios creative director, Brandon Schultz, Blokhedz was originally developed for Street Legends Ink's parent company as an animated feature, which has begun pre-production.
"We have always seen it as an animated feature film," said Schultz, who also writes the book. "Blokhedz as a comic book came at Mark's insistence. He was already doing sequential art in the form of storyboards, so a comic book was the logical extension."
The first story arc of Blokhedz is contained in four full color issues, introducing readers to Blak and his world. Life's not easy on the streets of Empire City, where hip hop and supernatural action combine in a fresh way to bring you the story of Blak, a talented young rapper struggling with his new found power and the tragic death of his brother. In development as an animated feature by Imajimation Studios, Blokhedz is a truly innovative comic experience that masterfully taps the global youth culture of hip-hop growing all over the world.
"Blokhedz is a story about love, loss, and life," said Mike Davis, co-creator of the series. "It's about the decisions that effect your life and following your dream. Hip Hop is vital to the story's essence because it's our language -- not just blacks and Latinos, but youth as a whole."
Issue #1 of this series is already sold-out in the U.S., and together with superhero epics, chilling tales of horror and riotous humor, Blokhedz is a unique addition to an already diverse collection of represented titles recently signed with International Enterprise.
"With our represented titles, we offer foreign publishers a diverse collection of comics that have not been seen in their territories," Hegarty continues. "Which is what makes Blokhedz such a perfect addition to our roster, because the series offers every publisher something they have not seen before and could not see anywhere else."
Blokhedz Issues #1-4 are now available in foreign markets through International Enterprise. Visit www.InternationalEnterprise.org for more information, and please contact with any questions or interest.
