New Avengers #6

The
New Avengers have gathered to avenge those affected by the wild events of the Breakout. But the questions revealed in this issue will have deep ramifications for the rest of the
Marvel Universe.
So we’ve come to the end of the first arc and questions have been answered. Not everything, things have been left in play to entice the reader back. We now know of a conspiracy that reaches further than first thought. That could have its seeds of birth in the organisation that is meant to protect. And could be connected to
Jessica Drew. Some of the dialogue is a little cheesy in places, but
Bendis does employ a nice technique with
Iron Man (talking with his armour). The story evolves nicely and the
Wolverine question is answered. As well as the conspiracy, we get an ending, which could definitely lead to some interesting stories.
What was interesting, straight off the bat was that
Finch decided to use a different panelling approach. We get a lot of smaller panels and an overlapping affect, which works well in developing the story. The action is captured well and we get some nice fire & force field effects. The one downside of
Finch’s work is that his female characters do look rather similar & a tad generic. But he does a great job on
Jessica Drew and the way she is captured in and out of costume. Oh and nice scar work at the end :)
