The comic wasn’t crap. BUT BE WARNED! It wasn’t a flavor of the month artist with a crappier flavor of the month writer like DC and Marvel seem to be spewing at the masses in the name of quality. The art is a style of its own which means if you’re a self declared “die-hard” you’ll dismiss it before thinking about it. No impossibly muscle bound characters or over boobed broads in this book. Instead you get quality pacing art with wonderful words to back it up.
To top it off each story has a surprise ending that would stand up to the best episodes of Rod Serling’s classic – The Twilight Zone. The stories themselves are very dark and sometimes disturbing like a good horror comic should be. Chris Lynch is a great storyteller gaining a new fan from this review. MDWD is one of those comics where you see the cover thinking this is just going to be another small press book with no substance. I was wrong.
