Our fledgling "Fantastic" hero's encounter their first huge threat, but what will they do? What has become of Sue? And will find out what has happened to Victor Van Damme!

This was a real fun issue, where the Fantastic Three get there first bit of action (a fight). Everything seemed to really fit with the perception of how the characters would behave. Johnny had the brash bravado; Ben seemed like Swchzanigga and Reed, well everything's science to him :) It still seemed to have a new element to it, which was nice. I really liked the getting to know your powers aspect and the police reaction worked. Big finish next issue.

Kubert's art was like the arc title, fantastic. From Johnny's flame-on, Reed's stretchiness and Ben's heavy hitting, especially his big finish, all of it was handled so well. The synergy with the writing could really be felt. The little things as well, Kubert did it all. You just have to see how he handled the glass reflections or facial expressions, just to be reminded of his skills. The cover was really good and captured Sue's invisibility, but a little misleading.
