While Mark Milton's parents and Kyle Richmond, also known as Nighthawk are not limited by the boundaries of their DC Comics' equivalents, some new slants such as Nighthawk's tough stand on crime fail to inspire. There isn't much that wasn't already done with Superman and Batman's archetypes in series such as The Authority. I really hoping Straczynski goes elsewhere.
Frank's art is as usual, very solid and gritty. His work adds that cinematic touch popular series such as the Ultimates have benefited from. Although, Frank has a tendency to make many of his characters similar, his storytelling keeps impressing. I still think Hyperion is somewhat too thin as a Superman cipher. He needs more bulk. However, Nighthawk's suit is cool and sleek.
