Prince died on April 21, 2016 at the age of 57 following recent health problems. He was an artist well known for his provocative music and prolific creativity. Prince also featured in a few comics in his life. One of the best known was published by DC Comics’ Piranha Press to promote the release of a new album. The comic was written by Dwayne McDuffie and drawn by Dennis Cowan.

I had this comic before. Prince was almost vigilante-like and used his heels to fight bad guys! Nothing impressive, but the Brian Bolland cover captured the intricate artist’s likeness perfectly. Prince is also well known to comics and super hero fans for revamping the classic 1960s Batman theme for the 1989 Batman movie.
