The Comic Book Bin is proud to announce its first theme month of 2008 focused on North American publisher Topshelf Comix, based in Atlanta, Georgia. Top Shelf publishes progressive comic books that cross many genre and formats. Many of its acclaimed creators, such as Alan Moore (From Hell, with Eddie Campbell; Lost Girls, with Melinda Gebbie), Craig Thompson (Blankets, Carnet De Voyage), Andy Runton (Owly), Jeffrey Brown (Clumsy, Unlikely), Alex Robinson (Box Office Poison, Tricked), James Kochalka (American Elf, Super F*ckers), Renée French (The Ticking, Micrographica) have created groundbreaking titles that have become classic in this comic book industry.

TopShelf Comix was created in 1995 when Brett Warnock began an anthology publishing cartoonists. Chris Starros, a cartoonist agent met Warnock in 1997 and history was made.  Top Shelf Productions has become an important venue for cartoonists and creators seeking a wider avenue for their works outside of the super hero publishers or established publisher Fantagraphics. Top Shelf’s strength lies in its great distribution in many foreign markets and deciphering the complex local laws that that can prevent works from entering specific markets, because of copyrights’ concerns and morality laws.

Top Shelf’s catalogue of books is a great offer for comic book readers and those less familiar with the medium who seek intelligent and entertaining contents to read. It is in this light that The Comic Book Bin decided to feature Top Shelf in January 0f 2008. The audience of The Comic Book Bin is more vaired that that of other comic book sites. We attract more women and casual readers than any other comic book Web sites. Therefore, we feel our audience will appreciate Top Shelf as well as a good alternative when seeking smart and challenging comic books.

We’re working hard to make Top Shelf Month at The Comic Book Bin the best theme month ever and something that will attract casual comic book readers. To support our reviews, interviews and coverage of Top Shelf Productions, The Comic Book Bin has set up a Facebook events where any Facebook user can share their insight about Top Shelf and read about the behind the scenes that the staff of The Comic Book Bin is undergoing in order to make this the best theme month our site has published ever. Invite all your friends and check us out often.

Thank you very much and Happy New Year 2008
