Everything Keith Giffen and JM Dematteis do is structured and methodical. Reading and rereading their work is a pleasure. We get fewer laughs in this issue as Roulette has subdued the heroes' minds. However, there's a great couple of jokes by Roulette's assistant. Roulette has lost none of her charms while Sue proves again, why she the team needs her.
From the first pages with the Superfriends' parody, Maguire's work shines through. The smirks are less original but there's enough to make you laugh. The best part about the book is the Mary Marvel and Captain Atom fight. It looks like someone's gonna get out of Roulette's house in an ambulance. Maguire shows to fans unfamiliar with his work that he draws fights as good as faces.
