The last issue of the revival of the old Justice League is a success and has officially sold out from DC Comics. The second mini-series has also been confirmed for next year. Meanwhile, in the funny pages, the band is about to move to its new headquarter in the middle of a peaceful neighbourhood. However, everyone from the local smart Alec street gang to the usual local spokespersons want the heroes out.

Giffen and Dematteis haven't outdone themselves with this one, yet they had me laughing the entire time. They introduce a new series of running jokes that should make things easier for new fans who didn't quite catch the BWA HA HA references in the last issue. Some of these guys like Mary Marvel and the Elongated Man did not work much with the others in the past, yet they seem to mesh perfectly.

There's no point commenting on Maguire's work. It's upstanding as usual. No one else, but Adam Hughes could capture faces so well. Fire's evil mug when she continues to remind Ralph that he's a four (don't ask) is just right. Mary Marvel's innocence is scary and sweet. Something has to be said about the page layout that Giffen has probably designed. It's great and there's more bang for your buck!
