Iron Man investigates the attack on the Vorozheikan embassy after terrorists have captured several scientists and attempted to kill guests at a party. Mark Curry, reveals what really happens and how he saved the day by using super speed powers he didn’t know he had. Now, he’s convinced that he really is an Eternal or something more than man. But can the other Eternals acting as men also be convinced?

Another fine issue reinventing the Eternals. Gaiman is a continuity buff, so I should never had doubt that he would answer the question of why the Eternals don’t remember their past existence and are acting as men. The scene where Iron Man meets Sersi is telling. This is what I love about writers like Gaiman. Lesser writers ignore past stories and don’t try reconciled their vision while taking what they like about characters. Gaiman plays with the past and offers convincing explanation for his new take on character, without throwing away the work of others. I wish more writers would follow his lead.

Romita is great as usual and his characters are easy to relate to. Of course his action scenes are impressive. I like to think of him as something similar to the Kubert brothers. The child of another comic book master, but who goes beyond his father. And in Romita’s case, he goes beyond Adam and Andy Kubert’s work!
