ComicBookBin App Beta for Android and Update for webOS Announced

CALGARY, Alberta, (August 31, 2010) – The ComicBookBin Palm webOS app adds new article notifications and a carousel view in the newsreader. The app allows webOS comic book collectors and readers to plan comic book conventions attendance, locate comic book stores in multiple locations, as well as provide access to over 12,000 articles published about comics, toys, movies and books. Now, The Comic Book Bin has released its first beta version of a similar ComicBookBin app to Android users, free of charge!

The most requested feature for the Comic Book Bin - an app for Android smartphones has finally arrived. Comic Book Bin founder Hervé St-Louis says “the demand for a ComicBookBin Android app has been strong and constant. Android users want the same app enjoyed by Palm and Apple users. This app was built from the ground up just for Android users. The interface is pure raw Android.”

The app allows users to browse through new articles in both portrait and landscape view. In landscape view, the newsreader turns into a carousel. We’re closer than ever to releasing the full and official first version of ComicBookBin for Android which will match the iOS and webOS versions of the app in features. To make the app work properly, users must enable location services on their devices.

The update to ComicBookBin for webOS comes a month after the first release. It adds super cool features like an improved interface, new articles notifications and a newsreader carousel view in landscape view. Users can manage the frequency of notifications sent their phones.

ComicBookBin apps, available now for three smartphone platforms continue to draw acclaim from users. It’s widely popular for Palm webOS users and is the current featured app of the week in the Palm app Catalog next to popular apps such as Angry Birds. Many Apple iOS users consider it one of the best comic book app ever made.
