Scott Snyder Writes Superman?!

As reported at various sites around the comic book webisphere (and at Bleeding Cool), Scott Snyder will be writing a Superman monthly comic book which will launch sometime around the release of next years Man of Steel film (which stars Henry Cavill as the titular hero). Jim Lee will be drawing it, but that's an afterthought... Let this sink in: Scott Snyder writing a monthly Superman comic book! This long suffering Superman fan nearly flew out his chair when he was informed of this! Snyder is easily one of the best writers in the comic book business, and is definitely the best mainstream superhero writer that DC Comics has right now. This news has apparently been one of the topics to spin out of the Toronto Fan Expo.

Again, Superman fans: Scott Snyder writing a Superman monthly comic book! Snyder got me back into reading Batman comics (take that Rob Liefeld!) and he might just be the writer to save me from dumping my Superman Family books. Now if he could just take over a few more of the Superman Family titles...or at least serve as the creative direction for the character, since no one else at DC Comics seems to know just how to approach him...besides hooking him up with Wonder Woman.

Yes Superman fans, there is light at the end of the tunnel, at least for one of the books starring our favorite superhero.
