New Super-Man and the Justice League of China embark on a new quest to free Shanghai from the clutches of Emperor Superman (New Super-Man's predecessor) and his new Imperial Army of China's greatest super villains. What of the new questions raised last issue though?

Gene Luen Yang and new series artist Billy Tan launch the next chapter in New Super-Man's adventures and this time it's personal (again). After a shocking revelation last issue (more of an announcement), Kenan Kong/New Super-Man is having some trouble controlling his Qi as he is faced with new questions and new personal challenges to unravel. Unfortunately, they might have to wait longer than he wishes because Emperor Superman and his cronies are about to attempt to establish a new Chinese Dynasty under their rule. All the new characters, released from the Crabshell (the Chinese super-prison) are strikingly rendered by Tan and he is quickly establishing himself in the role of New Super-Man artist and making the characters his own. I still say Viktor Bogdanovic will forever have claim to the definitive New Super-Man, but I cannot argue with Tan's beautiful and powerful artwork.

Still a great read, even with the artistic change, New Super-Man is the Spider-Man of the DC Universe, and he's just as fun a character to read and follow.
