“Arseface. John Wayne, The Saint of Killers.”
After a cryptic tweet about a project that has taken seven years to “bring one of [his] favourite projects to life,” it seems Seth Rogen is about to bring Preacher to the small screen.

Preacher follows the story of Jesse Custer, a preacher possessed by the offspring of a demon and angel, as he tries to find God and hold Him accountable for many of life’s bigger questions. Along the way, he befriends an Irish vampire, is mentored by John Wayne, and encounters the pure bloodline of Jesus.
This is the latest and most solid attempt to bring the series to any screen since rumours began before the comic even ended. Originally, a film was set to be made by Tank Girl director Rachel Talalay from a script by series writer Garth Ennis, but was cancelled. James Marsden, better known to Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans as Spike, even confirmed being cast in the lead role in 2002, but the project similarly disappeared. Now, Seth Rogen and his Superbad co-writer Evan Goldberg are set to develop a pilot to show executives, which may or may not lead to series.
