Scott Free and Big Barda spend one last day together before he is executed by Orion the new Highfather of New Genesis. Will Barda be able to convince Scott to stay and escape death one last time?

This issue was the one of that played with many of the Judeo-Christian concepts introduced in Jack Kirby’s Fourth World saga. While having sex in bondage with Barda, Scott emulates Jesus Christ about to be executed for our sins on the cross. Later, he pounders several notions from Pascal Descartes’s famous dictum “I think therefore I am” and how that relates to the existence of God, a God Scott wishes were good and purer that would not play tricks on us and help us alleviate our doubts.
