Maritess vs The Superfriends

Studios: Fractalcow
Directed by: Rex Navarrete, Dino Ignacio
Running Time: 5 minutes
This cartoon is quite funny, although it's full of inside jokes that only Philippines' natives will understand. Maritess tells about her alleged abuse and discrimination received from the Superfriends. She also shares some insights about immigration laws and how Filipino workers have to struggle against the system and isolation. The best jokes occur when Maritess talks about individual Superfriends.
The graphic design is not the best and the animation is quite modest. Maritess looks more like a guy than a woman, but it doesn't matter much. The cartoon works very well. The creators favour using blocks of colours without contour lines for both backgrounds and animated levels. It's quite colourful. The best part is the monologue, taped in front of a live audience. More cartoons should have that.
