Most of us have experienced the “roommate from Hell,” but Olive has taken it to a new level. As the Gotham Academy Mystery Club explores the caverns beneath the campus, they find way more than they bargained for. Secrets come to light, much to everyone’s dismay, especially the person holding the secret.


Despite being part of the Bat-family of titles, Batman’s involvement has been minimal at best. To the students, he is less of a hero and more of a corrupt vigilante. Like much of the younger generation, they are uncertain who to trust. When that trust is broken, it manifests itself in that will require explaining later on.


The series seems to have turned a corner, as some of the plot threads develop from a stray thread to an intricate weave. The art is consistently great, and I feel the team behind it deserves a great deal of credit for maintaining such a high standard month after month.


As for the writing, I am uncertain. Not because I have found it lacking, but because the story isn’t over yet. I’ve always believed it to be unfair to critique only part of a story, but I am pleased with what I have seen so far.
