What happens to a world where fairy magic runs lose and the people there cannot control it? Well this is what we find out in this issue and why Feathertop is fighting hard to protect the Earth. Elsewhere, a powerful little girl is reshaping the world in her image. Will she succeed?

The theme of this issue is cheating death. Characters that we thought we dead last issue are back this issue in some form. The little girl is reviving her own family. Hansel is also revived after being killed in the first issue. Finally, Connor is not dead but masquerading as one of the henchmen who is stealing precious artifacts. I’m glad that he is not dead so soon in this series.

Although I have never read anything about Fables before, I feel good about this series. It’s not too late to start reading it. The premise is clear enough and Connor is your typical funny young hero like the Human Torch. He’s just likeable. The series does feel like one is reading a super hero comic as opposed to something from Vertigo but that’s okay.

I continue to be impressed with Travis Moore’s work. Like I wrote last review, it’s like Rags Morales but without the same range of facial emotions.
