Quebec City's Festival de la bande dessinée francophone (Quebec City Comic Book Festival) will feature Burquette creator Francis Desharnais

Burquette is a popular comic book series about a North Amerrican young girl whose dad told her to start wearing a hibab to enlighten her sensibilities towards other cultures. The series has been very popular with tweens and older readers and is also a major success in Europe.

Burquette has recently been animated by Desharnais with support from the National Film Board of Canada (NFB). 15 short clips have been created and can be viewed at the NFB's Website.

The Quebec City Festival and the NFB will host a joint viewing and presentation on Burquette on April 14 at 7:30 PM at the Musée de la civilisation (Museum of Civilization)
