Beth’s contribution to ComicBookBin reminds me that as well as having a majority of college trained writers over the years, we’ve also had more than our share of graduate students undergoing their master’s degrees. I’m one of them of course. Does that mean that college-educated writers and graduate-level contributors have more say or are better writers? Not necessarily, but as someone who has tremendous respect for the personal achievement one gains through education, I will say that I am not having writers with outstanding educational props. I will say it helps a lot and gives the average writer more range and better analytical skills.
Beth is also well-respected in the comic book industry, having participated in several conferences related to sequential arts scholarly research and contributing a lot to comic book groups for scholars. I’ve spoken to Beth several times and what I’ve learn from her was that she is a hardworking person with several academic and professional commitments that still wants to write a regular column on religion and comics through ComicBookBin because she actually believes in my vision. Woah! People don’t tell me that too often and coming from Beth, who has enough perspective on issues related to comics, that means a lot to me. Beth still writes for ComicBookBin and has witness my drive to succeed although it hasn’t alienated her yet! Beth it’s been four years. Thanks for choosing us over the other guys!
Who's Who @ComicBookBin is a feature celebrating the 10th anniversary of ComicBookBin where publisher Hervé St-Louis features writers past and present that have contributed to ComicBookBin over the years.
