Aquaman and his Atlantean people help rebuild Amnesty Bay, following the war between Atlantis and the United States. Aquaman is now popular and no longer the butt of jokes. But a sinister technological evil wants to take control of Aquaman and does it through techno-telepathy. Will Aquaman fall under the control of this new foe?

Let’s start with the artwork. Brad Walker is finally back. It’s about time. Aquaman does not look the same when he’s gone. Walker uses the craziest angles to depict Aquaman’s power. That makes the page jump at you every time. The scenes with Mera and Aquaman are as great. Walker likes to draw close ups. His are not the classic type. He takes chances on how he represents his characters. They are not traditionally beautiful but they still charm.

Dan Abnett’s job is to keep up the charm now that Aquaman’s first storyline has established the series as one to care about. It’s a typical quiet issue where he introduces a new threat and resolves some dangling plot points relating to Mera and Aquaman’s relationship. It’s all moving in the right direction. It’s also a great jumping point for the series.
