The Intimates # 7
By Hervé St.Louis
August 14, 2005 - 23:36
The Intimates are off for a vacation and the kids are planning their summer. A teen marketing scout checks Empty Vee trying to find out what is hot with kids these days, while Duke is recruited as a super hero for the National Parks. As for Destra, it took the entire term before she ever considered the super hero seriously, and now she intends on paying her dues. Will the world be a better and safer place?
This is another issue where not much happens and one can only enjoy the moments that make this comic book series stand out. Fortunately, Casey sensed that he was approaching the limit with the Seminary’s backdrop and decided to break the formula. The kids are still in the story, but they have more freedom. Also, we won’t get nice little ending at the end of the story where everything kind of goes back to normal.
Camuncoli continues to grace the page of this series earning it a few extra readers. With so little room to move, it’s an amazing that the artist can produce beautiful first rate pages out of a script that’s tired and too long to resolve itself. In this issue, he takes more liberty with perspectives that is a good sign of growth. As usual, his storytelling is excellent, although there is not much story to tell.
