As the characters in the story say, a school dance is a necessary rite of passage for teens. But what happens when a super hero highschool organizes a dance? Of course where else could a school dance be, other than the simulation room? This issue, Punchy meets his match in master prankster Sparky. Sykes shows that he can dance too, but it’s nothing compared with Keefong’s foreplay breakdance act.
This series is hilarious without being over the top. It’s not in your face humour. Casey introduces the plot and the situation quietly and laughter usually occurs later. This type of humour is great as it’s not forced. It occurs out of the lives of the kids at the Seminary and feels natural. Finally, Casey shows us more students. I wish he would do more than focus on the same old gang. All those super powered teens walking the halls are intriguing.
Camuncoli’s artwork grows on you quietly. His work is proficient and clean. It’s like watching Jim Lee, but with good storytelling, great pacing and realistic body proportions. We will forever tie his work with the Intimates. Watching the different objects that project out of Sykes’ head gives a good example f the range of his work. Of course, Hope’s inking balances and evens out all his rough edges.
