The Hideout Bar Re-Opens with Super Deluxe Hero Happy Hour: The Lost Episode

Welcome back to the bar where everybody knows your name, if not your secret identity. In August, the doors to the fan-favorite indy comic Hero Happy Hour re-open, courtesy of co-creators Dan Taylor and Chris Faison. The 64-page one-shot, Super Deluxe Hero Happy Hour: The Lost Episode makes available at last the long-lost episode, “The Fall and Rise of Kingfish,” completely re-mastered by Taylor (Edgar Rice Burroughs’ A Princess of Mars) and Fason (24 Hour Comics Day Highlights 2005). All of The Hideout Bar & Grill regulars—Guardian, Night Ranger, Scout, Psiren, Rusty the Bartender, and the rest—return to every hero’s favorite watering hole where everyone knows your name, secret identity or not. Happy hour is interrupted when First City is attacked by the marauding Shadow-Soldiers from Dimension Z. Unfortunately this will be the last round for one of the heroes as one of their own loses their life in the line of duty and the group has to come to terms with the loss of a colleague.

Super Deluxe Hero Happy Hour: The Lost Episode is jam-packed with a never-before-published story that has been enhanced with re-mastered and added scenes, as well as bonus material that includes interviews with the cast, outtakes and bloopers, deleted scenes, a “Hero Happy Minute” featurette, and more.

“The grand re-opening of The Hideout Bar & Grill has been ‘super’ long overdue,” says co-creator Dan Taylor. “People have been asking for another round of Hero Happy Hour for quite some time now and I’m ‘super’ pleased that IDW is giving Chris Fason and I an opportunity to oblige. Chris and I are garnishing this book with a lot of ‘super’ extras. Think along the lines of the bonus material offered on special ‘super’ DVDs and you’ll be on the right track.”

Drinks are on us in August, when Super Deluxe Hero Happy Hour: The Lost Episode (Diamond Item Code JUN06 3216), a 64-page, b&w comic, makes its debut.
