The NTF is a government team filled with super human soldiers that deal with super villain menaces. However, all is not sweet in the NTF world as factions fight for the control of the team, going as far as murdering the old NTF commander. While all the backroom politics happen, the new members of the team assigned last issue try to integrate the older team. Friction occurs and may stop the NTF from performing a rescue operation at the UN headquarters in New York City.
It is rare to pick up a comic book that is just perfect from a smaller publisher. I’ll say it rare for a comic book to be just perfect, at all. Everything syncs together. One can feel the chemistry of the creators of this project. The writer and the artist are not fighting each other, trying to show who off their talents. Instead, they are working side by side to deliver a story that kicked ass and impress me a lot. Where were those guys all these years? There is a lot of story in this issue. You really your bang for the buck. In fact the story is 42 pages long. More small publishers should release longer issues as it’s more economical for all.
Although this was my first exposure to this series, I got up to speed quickly. There were a lot of characters to keep track of, but after a while, it’s simple to understand this new universe. The level of characterisation is impressive and makes the characters relatable and worth picking up next month.
The artwork is good. The characters’ round face bugged me at first, but after a while, it grows on you. The storytelling was clear and helped move the story forward. It almost felt like reading a cartoon series. I hope this series stays for a long time.
