If you are still paying attention, dear readers, you know that I (Leroy Douresseaux) launched a digital comic book project at the Comic Book Bin a few years ago. Below you can see the rough page breakdown for Page 2 of Grumble #2.
The comic book is entitled, Grumble, a planned a five-issue comic book series. It follows a young woman named Ava Benson, who returns to her hometown, Beechwood, for her Uncle Avner Benson’s funeral. In addition to reuniting with her dysfunctional family, Ava learns that an old enemy is terrorizing the town and murdering her family and friends.
After various delays, I was able to start working on Grumble again with artist Diego Candia (www.diegocandia.com). We’re working on what is Grumble #2 (or Chapter 2), and I hope to start publishing Grumble #2 on the Bin again later this year. That, however, is related to a general ComicBookBin announcement that we will make later this year. So in the meantime, I will start sharing the preliminary work that we are doing on Grumble, which includes Diego’s page rough sketches and pencils.
By the way, I launched an Indiegogo campaign to partially fund Grumble #2, which you can see here.
An addition to the Grumble narrative is a framing sequence starring two women. One is Miss Mary, a caretaker, and the other is Miss Buzzbee, an elderly lady of whom Miss Mary takes care. Miss Mary is the narrator of the events chronicled and depicted in Grumble.
In Chapter 2, readers will get a clearer look at the adversary. We will also pick up where Chapter 1 left off, the fight between Ava and her younger sister, Heather.
