It has been several decades since the D Virus infected much of humanity and turned its victims into monsters known as Dracules. As the human population plummets and the world reaches a crisis point, the heroic VIUS emerge to protect humanity. VIUS Squad Zero, led by Captain Issa Kazuma (who possesses a Dragon Eye and wields the giant broadsword, Diamond Sacred Steel), takes the fight to the Dracules.
In Dragon Eye, Vol. 5, Hibiki Masamune, the young, but brilliant and talented warrior and Squad Six member sets up a duel with Issa to take a measure of the divisive Squad Zero leader. Meanwhile, sexy Squad Six captain, Aoi Shizune, hunts for a traitor and Dracules collaborator, and Issa joins this ambitious undercover operation, which may lead him into a trap.
THE LOWDOWN: Although as a Kodansha publication, Dragon Eye, is, of course, not part of the magazine Shonen Jump, it would fit right in with titles like Naruto and Bleach. This fantasy/action, fight comic title is a fun shounen manga (boys’ comics) that delivers on fight scenes, aggressive male characters, imaginative creatures, and some sexy female characters (the moan-inducing Aoi Shizune).
POSSIBLE AUDIENCE: Shounen fans.
