“Bites of Sin,” Part One of Two
On the night of the volleyball tournament between the sorority, Epsilon Alpha Zeta Upsilon (EAZY) and its partner, Alpha Zeta Zeta, zombies invade the EAZY sorority house. Now, zombies have taken over The City, and humanity’s only hope are three EAZY girls: Jaime Schaeffer, Paige Patton, and Brittany Miller.
Chaos Campus Sorority Girls vs. Zombies #7 presents new evil. After barely escaping the last house in which they sought refuge, Jaime, Paige, and Brittany seek safety in another house, only to run into muscular slasher Kurtis Kasey, again. Kasey isn’t their only problem, as the house has other occupants – a rogue military unit and other-dimensional monsters that dress in leather, vinyl, and bondage gear.
THE LOWDOWN: With a new storyline, writer B. Alex Thompson turns his attention to lampooning the Cenobites from Clive Barker’s story “The Hellbound Heart” and the Hellraiser film franchise based upon the story. Loud-mouthed, Southern military officers also get a good skewering. The art by Daniel Fitz with colors by Omi Remalante, Jr. and Schmerys Baal doesn’t really seem in synch with Thompson’s ghoulish signature, but it still gives this story its own vibe. This is one of those occasions in which the graphics rightfully hold sway. If there were comic book art true to Sam Raimi’s visual nature, it would be what is found in Chaos Campus Sorority Girls vs. Zombies #7
POSSIBLE AUDIENCE: Fans of horror comedy will certainly want Chaos Campus Sorority Girls vs. Zombies.
