Beginning a wild epic of piracy and plunder! CrossGen wants a new major hero - and you can meet her in a savage tale of the days when cannons roared, cutlasses clashed, and the seas were stained blood red!

This was definitely something different. Dixon has planted the seeds and the beginnings of a great story are in place. A lot transpires in this first issue, plunder, lies, death. We find out when and how Lady Sinn was born, but a big question is, who is she really in the first place!?! This isn’t a fast paced story, like any good structure the foundation is being laid first. And don’t expect any super powers (no Sigils) or anything, just expect real good storytelling! Time to gain your sea legs m’lads, this is gonna be a long voyage I feel :)

Epting has shown us here that he is truly Captain of his ship! The art is AMAZING!!! Talk about setting the tone. Look at the panels, you feel like you’re underwater at the beginning or in the middle of battles. To compliment the great pencils, we have great colours too. This is a dark and gritty story. Even on a sunny day, there is no fun & smiles and this is all reflected. The intensity is so real!

Report Card – C+
