ANITA BLAKE VAMPIRE HUNTER GUILTY PLEASURES # 1 HAS SOLD OUT AT DIAMOND!
ANITA BLAKE VAMPIRE HUNTER GUILTY PLEASURES #1, the first new book released under Marvel’s collaboration with the Dabel Brothers, has sold out at Diamond. Author Laurell K. Hamilton was thrilled to hear about the sellout of issue one of the series adapted by Stacie Ritchie with art by Brett Booth.
The New York Times best-selling author could not be happier by the fan response as Anita Blake has clearly found a strong audience within the comic book industry. Hamilton said, “That the entire print run of the first ANITA BLAKE: VAMPIRE HUNTER, GUILTY PLEASURES, sold out in a day is too cool.”
“Retailers have told us that they’ve seen more new faces in their stores similar to the release of CIVIL WAR,” said Marvel’s Vice President of Sales David Gabriel. “New people are embracing the industry, old fans are embracing the new material that Marvel is putting out and it’s all a part of Marvel’s mission to expand and reach a broader audience.”
Online fan reaction has been astounding ranging from comments like “An impressive debut for the collaboration between Marvel and the Dabel Bros.” and “How funny, Anita is now a gateway comic...be prepared to get addicted to a new medium!!”
Marvel and the Dabel Brothers are discussing a second printing to ensure that stores are able to keep this book in stock. Retailers are advised to review their orders for the second issue of ANITA BLAKE: VAMPIRE HUNTER, which will include a limited edition print.
