Major
League Gaming Canada and Insight Sports announced today that team
registration passes for the 2007 MLG Canadian Open, taking place from
November 2
nd
to 4
th
at the Direct Energy Centre in downtown Toronto, are now on sale.
Registration is open to gamers of all ages and skill levels,
including both amateurs and professionals. “Having a premier MLG
event in Toronto is huge step forward for the Canadian gaming
community and professional gaming as a whole,” said Nelson
“G-SpOt”
Triana, Canada’s top ranked gamer, “The 2007 MLG Canadian Open
will feature the best gamers that this country has to offer and I’m
looking forward to showcasing my skills on a national stage.”
The Open will consist of four main events: Halo 2 four on four, Halo 2 free for all, Gears of War four on four and Rainbow Six Vegas four on four. The top eight finalists from each tournament will receive prize money from a prize purse totaling $70,400, which will be awarded over the three-day event. MLG Canada is expecting competition spots to go fast, and is encouraging gamers that wish to register their team to do so early, as available spots for each tournament are limited. Individuals can purchase passes to compete at the 2007 MLG Canadian Open, as well as learn more about the weekend's events at www.mlgcanada.com.

Entertainment, Hudson Soft's North American publishing brand,
announced today that Bomberman is coming back in two new games, which
are currently slated for release in January 2008. Coming to Wii and
PSP is the award winning series,
Bomberman Land
,
which brings 3 different game modes together into one, and
Bomberman Land Touch!
2 is
coming to Nintendo DS. The series will introduce a large number of
mini-games, most of which will be playable in multiplayer mode. The
PSP and Wii versions will feature 50 mini-games, and the DS version
will have 40 unique mini-games.
The Bomberman Land series features a full fledged single-player Story Mode. Players will be able to explore a fantasy land and solve quests and puzzles, all with the goal of restoring peace to the Bomberman world. The game also includes the Battle Pack Mode, the classic multiplayer Bomberman experience. Plus, the PSP system and the DS versions both allow gamers to share one game cartridge and network with friends to create the ultimate party game.
