It’s reckoning time for all associated with the social network and Akira's app as what is left of the 140 are fighting amongst one another. Rubinstein has been found and captures. But he promises worst to his captors. Followers of the Akira app continue to believe that the guru does have the power to reveal insights about life from beyond the grave but will the secret to his return to life about to be revealed?
It’s one of those stories where several threads intermingle with one another unlike last issue which was one single story easy to figure out. I have been reading this comic for a while now and admit that I’m still confused while still enjoying the ride. At this point, following this story is like trying to figure out a Twitter timeline debate with several responses and retweets intertwined, having joined the debate midstream.
Mike Dowling is back and I appreciate his work a lot this issue. It’s gritty and textured but with a good serving of inks giving his work a post-modern noir look. It’s noir but uneven and crumbling at times.
