The X-Men race to Jean Grey’s tomb before Madelyne Pryor and her Sisterhood can extract the body so she may inhabit it. It is the only body Madelyne’s soul can inhabit safely. But the X-Men have a few tricks up their sleeves and recruit a team of matching mutants to deal with Cyclops’ ex-wife. But will trickery be enough to stop the mad ghost and her team. And will Beast get to the bottom of all the secrecy in the team?

This issue was much better than the last one. The X-Men actually used cunning to defeat their opponents.  However, the real intent of this issue was to revive Psylocke while adding further confusion on the history of Madelyne Pryor. I would have preferred a better ending for her and an opportunity to grow the character as more than a clone of Jean Grey. The X-Men’s history is becoming more and more confused by the minute and I was hoping Fraction was gonna simplify it, not add to the confusion.

Land was born to draw women and this issue proves it another time – not that anyone needed to be told that. The fact that most of the characters in this issue are women also gives him solid material to work with. Although all his women look the same, all being drop-dead gorgeous, he can still instil a good action scene here and there that carries the story forward.
