A female metallic woman looking like the Wasp has appeared in the middle of Manhattan and of course, after a skirmish with the Mole Man threatens to destroy the world. Tony Stark and Ms Marvel’s Avengers are the only thing standing in the way of this dangerous foe, but are they enough to contain this new crisis?

The story goes back and forth from where it left off last issue, depicting how the current team was recruited by Ms Marvel and Iron Man. It’s a device that although, works well and provides some characterisation to the members of this team, hides the fact that Bendis’ story is weak. If it were not for the constant flashback, the story would be a boring confrontation with the new villain, which oddly enough, none of the characters seem to recognize at first. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out who it is. I mean, it looks like the Wasp and is made of metal. But with all their brain power, the Avengers can’t seem to guess this one.

Cho’s work is great. His character designs are solid and the story is engaging. The backdrops are not as crispy as his characters though. His Manhattan feels like a bunch of digital boxes. The colouring gives it that digital feel. As for the villain, I find it odd how they absolutely refuse to draw her nipples and conveniently cover them with a puff of smoke.
