Iron Man is in a vegetative state under the care of Donald Blake, also known as Thor. But Iron Man has left a complex scheme to put him back physically and mentally. While his mind is stuck in an imaginative desert, Madame Masque plots to kill Iron Man once and for all, whether Norman Osborn wants it or not. Will the combine forces of the Avengers be enough to stop the wrath of an ex-lover?
This is a comic book I’ve been waiting for weeks to read and the wait was worth it. I’m not a fan however, of the dream sequences involving Tony Stark finding his Iron Man suit metaphorically, but the rest of the issue was intriguing. I like the reaction of the Avengers and Pepper Potts as to whether or not Iron Man should be saved. Better yet is the revenge plot of Madame Masque and how she plans on overruling Osborn on the fate of Iron Man. While last issue represented the depth that Iron Man fell in, this one is the beginning of his rebirth. It should be a good ride afterward.
Larroca again delivers a stand up series of panels and images even when their narrative contents is less interesting, as is the case with the desert s dream sequence. I like his irregular line which when looked from a certain distance is quite stark and sharp.
